Hello, my name is David Miller, Founder of Changefirst. Ask Me Anything. ⬇️ All you need to do is type your question in the comments section below this post ⬇️ I founded Changefirst in the mid-1990s. Since that time, we have helped hundreds of organizations build their capabilities to adapt to changes in society, shifts in customer needs and technological innovation. Yet, however well prepared we may be, there will always be seismic events beyond our control. We have helped our clients and their people navigate the Dot-Com Crash, the aftermath of 9/11, the 2008 Financial Crash and numerous smaller events. We’ve also steered our own business through these turbulent times. I would like to make this experience available to anyone who asks. So, today, Tuesday 24th and tomorrow, Wednesday 25th I’m making myself available to answer any of your questions in the comments section of this post. I hope to be able to provide perspectives and information on topics such as: 🔹 Managing the organizational change impacts of Covid-19 🔹 Helping you and your people become more resilient I look forward to talking with you! #ChangefirstAMA #changeleadership #agilechangemanagement #askmeanything #changemanagement

Only 16% of people believe that their organization can deliver transformation-level change programs. Thank you for all your comments last week, after my post “Is change management failing?” Thought I’d look at our data and see if it supported any of your feedback. And, to a large extent it did! Our Organizational Capacity Assessment gives the - rather shocking - 16% number above. Top 4 possible causes were: 1. Individuals are cynical about change projects based on their previous experience of change 2. When change implementation gets difficult individuals reduce their effort towards making the change work 3. In the past the leadership team have failed to communicate the likely impact of change projects at the personal level 4. There is no systematic information sharing and learning about change successes or failures. These factors were trumped by the results from our Change Demand Assessment, where 48% of respondents felt that their organization was overwhelmed by too much change. As I said last week the inability of executives to focus on a few programs may be costing their shareholders and people dearly. Any good experiences of successfully increasing an organization’s capacity to deliver transformation-level changes? #transformation #changemanagement
